We all know what it’s like to be ill and recover. Everyone has had a flu or a bug of some kind in their life and gotten better. The process we go through in recovering from a physical illness is similar to the process of recovery from emotional pain. Definitely different but similar in that our system of healing is integrated in our body. Our body knows what to do when we give it the proper tools.
Today I want to share some thoughts about lessons I learned while I was sick this past week. I realized as I wrote brief notes in my journal about what I learned from being ill that those lessons apply to our experience with grief. Please be reassured that there’s nothing wrong with you, you’re just working through the normal process of healing.
