My special guest on today’s podcast is Tamara K. Anderson. She shares her story of loss of expectations for the future with two autistic sons. We sometimes don’t consider that a diagnosis can create feelings of grief but that’s what today’s story is all about.
Tamara shares the experience of receiving the devastating news that her second oldest son is autistic then a few years later learning that her third oldest is also autistic. She explains what it looked like after the diagnosis, what she did to move forward and to cope, and how this diagnosis has affected her and her family.
Tamara also shares how her faith in God informed her journey. She’s an inspiration and her story is a powerful example of overcoming grief and challenges.
Tamara is a speaker, author, podcaster, and is a professional in HOPE. She has four children who struggle with autism, ADHD, anxiety, vision issues, and all her children bring her great joy.
She is a sucker for books and can sometimes be found awake at 2:00 am so that she can finish the book she is reading. Tamara likes kitchen gadgets, power tools, puttering around in her garden, zip-lining and hiking.
Totaling 14+ moves in 6 states and 2 countries throughout her life, Tamara now lives in Utah with her husband and family.
